CIE Automotive challenges the sector with a record profit of 326 million euros in 2024

27/02/2025

Increases sales and results with a high level of cash generation that brings debt to historic lows

Bilbao, 27.2.2025 – CIE Automotive has presented today the results for the 2024 financial year, challenging with significant growth an Automotive industry weakened by uncertainties.

Sales have exceeded 3.96 billion euros, which represents a growth of 1.1%, outperforming by more than 2 basic points the decrease in global vehicle production.

In terms of operating margins, an EBITDA – gross operating profit – of 728 million has been reached, and an EBIT – net operating profit – of 538 million euros, which represents margins of 18.4% and 13.6% respectively, significantly higher than the average margins of the sector.

All of the above results in a record net profit of 326 million which, on a comparable perimeter, represents a growth of almost 5% compared to 2023.

According to Jesús María Herrera, CEO of CIE Automotive, “We continue growing above the market, improving our results, and above all, we continue with an extremely high cash generation that has brought our leverage to historic lows, which, in the current sectoral context, highlights the value of our management model and our positioning as a reference supplier in the global Automotive industry”.

And he adds: “For all these reasons and due to our expectations for the current year, we are in a position to reconfirm that the commitments of the 2025 Strategic Plan will be fulfilled.”

Gold medal for CIE Automotive in the Reporta Report

18/09/2024

In a year in which the average score is 2 points higher than in the previous year, CIE Automotive shares first place with Santander

Madrid, September 18, 2024 - Reporta Report this morning presented the results of the 2024 study, which assesses the 2023 Annual Report of companies listed on the Spanish stock exchange, in which Santander and CIE Automotive lead the ranking, both with 86 points, followed by Endesa with 83.3 points.

A highly commendable podium for CIE Automotive, which this year has improved 1.5 points reaching Santander - the undisputed leader for the past three years - and which also tops the scores in the Basic Materials, Industry and Construction sector and in two of the four categories analysed (relevance and accessibility), as well as the ranking of non-IBEX 35 companies.

It is worth recalling the meteoric evolution of the CIE Automotive Annual Report, which has gone from 51st position - and a score of 47.6 - in 2014 to second position in 2022 and 2023 and this shared podium in 2024.

The Reporta Report, which has been promoted and coordinated by the consulting firm Quum since 2010, analyses the quality of the reports and information that the companies in the Madrid Stock Exchange General Index (IGBM) make available to their shareholders and stakeholders. The overall ranking is obtained from the scores obtained by the universe of companies analysed in a total of 36 indicators, grouped into four principles: transparency, commitment, relevance and accessibility.

On this occasion, 110 companies were analysed and the average score was 52.2 points, 2 points higher than the previous year, reaching a new all-time high in score and growth, with 52 companies scoring below this average.
